“Golden Anniversary”I like the mixture of black, red, gold and bronze tones that I used for this painting. The paint was applied thickly with a palette knife to create a random design on the canvas. The golden and bronze tones reflect the light and make this painting come to life. Please be aware that there is a reflection on the photograph that is not there on the original canvas.

“Heart to Heart”I enjoy painting hearts as they are such a beautiful thing to incorporate into artwork. I wanted the background to be all the colours of passion and then the hearts stand out in relief which shine in gold and bronze. There are also four stones that have been set into the canvas for added interest.

“Dark Circles”This is a very dark painting in every sense. The holes that have been created by the outline of red and gold feel deep and endless as though they could lead into a never ending abyss. I love the combination of black, red and gold and have used it quite often in other paintings.
“Silver Shadow - SOLD”This painting is unlike any of the other pieces that I have done so. I wanted to create a much darker canvas and decided to use a combination of black, blue, purple and green highlighted with splashes of metallic silver to catch the light. However, the acents of purple and green are not noticeable on the photograph, but can be seen in the original painting.

“Celebration”I wanted to create an explosion of colour onto the canvas. I used a palette knife and worked outward from the centre blending each colour into the next. To finish I used metallic gold paint around the outer edge to create an illuminated effect. However, The light catching effect is difficult to see on the photograph.
“Autumn”I used thinly applied modelling paste as a base for the background to add texture, which was then painted over with acrylics. For the falling leaves effect I used thick modelling paste which was daubed onto the canvas with a palette knife. To finish I used metallic acrylic paints to create the autumn leaf colours which catch the light.

“Hearts Desire”This was the first of three small pieces that I created using PVA glue. The glue gives a slight relief effect and when dry can be painted over. I used oils to paint the background and metallic gold acrylic to finish the outlined heart shapes.
“Plum Punch”This is the second of my paintings using PVA glue to create a relief effect on the canvas. I enjoyed the way that the glue made its own shapes and merged with other lines to give an abstract circular pattern. The background was finished in acrylic and once again metallic gold was used to cover the glue lines so enabling it to catch the light.
“Tree of Life”This was the third piece I used PVA glue for a relief effect. I live in a rural village so am surrounded by trees and fields. Once again the glue seemed to form its own shapes and as with the other paintings in this series made the subject more interesting. The background was painted using a combination of oils and acrylics and the outline of the tree was painted using metallic bronze paint to catch the light.

“Precious”This was painted originally for an exhibition. The central heart in this picture is made up of thick modelling paste, with a small stone inserted and painted with metallic gold acrylic. I used a palette knife to create the colour radiating from the heart and then finished using more gold metallic acrylic on the outer edges of the canvas. This picture catches the light beautifully and at different angles really shines.
“Colour Storm”Long palette knife strokes created the background of this painting and to add extra interest I created a central pillar of metallic gold which moves outward across the canvas, somewhat like a tornado across the landscape. There are flecks of golden glitter in the central form which makes this section glisten.
